Trump administration considering "sending checks to Americans immediately," Mnuchin says

-- President Trump announced he and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin are working on a "big" and "bold" legislative package to address the coronavirus crisis. Mnuchin said the goal would be to get checks to Americans in two weeks to help workers cope with the economic effects of the crisis. The president wouldn't say exactly how much those checks might be — Republican Senators Tom Cotton and Mitt Romney have suggested $1,000 per adult.

These retailers are closing stores to slow coronavirus outbreak

Major retailers across the U.S. are shutting down their stores in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Others are reducing store hours or pitching in to offer space for virus testing. The closures come as there are at least 2,952 confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. and at least 57 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
